[Project Overview]
"We want to teach children about the mechanisms of local industry and socio-economy, and have them run the town and raise the next generation!?"
"Ma-a-ru" opened for the eighth year in 2020 as a facility for children to develop their independence and creativity and learn about social and economic structures and local industries through work and manufacturing experiences. At the Children's Bazaar, a children's town, a total of about 700 child store managers run the town. This initiative is held every Saturday, Sunday, public holidays, and weekdays during long holidays, and has been held for more than 1,000 days so far. The "Work and Manufacturing Courses," where local adults teach children about work experiences and manufacturing, have been held with the cooperation of more than 350 local companies and organizations, with a total of 1,783 courses (as of February 2020). Children learn about the fun and rewards of work directly from local adults. Adults working in the town connect with children through "Ma-a-ru."
Each and every experience here empowers the children and not only contributes to the current revitalization of the town, but also to its future development.
