Tanseisha Group Environmental Policy

The Tanseisha Group considers coexistence with the environment to be one of its most important management priorities. By striving to protect the environment and reduce the environmental impact throughout all of its corporate activities, and by continually working towards the realization of a decarbonized, circular economy, and coexistence with nature, the Group contributes to the realization of a colorful and sustainable society.

  1. Pursuing sustainability through business
    (1) We will work with our customers, business partners, and other business partners to reduce environmental impact and create new value throughout the entire value chain.
    (2) We will promote "sustainable procurement" through collaboration with suppliers.
    (3) We will actively adopt "sustainable design" to realize a sustainable society.
  2. Addressing climate change (realizing a decarbonized society)
    (1) We will promote the reduction of energy consumption and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions throughout our business activities by improving energy efficiency and business processes.
    (2) We will work to utilize clean energy and optimize travel and transportation efficiency.
  3. Promoting a circular economy
    (1) We will consider the entire life cycle of a space from the planning and design stages, aiming to maximize the efficient and cyclical use of resources and added value.

  4. Conservation of natural capital and pollution prevention
    (1) We will continuously assess our dependence on and impact on natural capital and biodiversity, strive to avoid and minimize negative impacts, and promote activities that contribute to the restoration and conservation of natural capital.
    (2) We will promote the efficient use of water resources and work to prevent air, soil, and water pollution through the appropriate management of chemical substances.
  5. Environmental Governance and Information Disclosure
    (1) Under the leadership of our management, we will promote environmental management as a management issue, ensure efficient operation, and thoroughly comply with international declarations, laws and regulations, and other rules and regulations.
    (2) We will thoroughly prepare for environmental risks, minimize the environmental impact in potential emergency situations, and enhance the organization's response and resilience to ensure business continuity.
    (3) We will disclose information regarding our environmental performance and build relationships of trust with our stakeholders.
    (4) We will disseminate this policy to all officers and employees and strive to raise environmental awareness through environmental education.

Operation and promotion of environmental management systems

The Tanseisha Group's environmental management system is integrated with our business activities and goes beyond protecting the natural environment, aiming to create comfortable environments for social interaction, taking into consideration everything from the design stage to the operation of facilities after construction.
In July 2017, we renewed our environmental management system certification in accordance with the 2015 revision of ISO14001, expanding the scope ofapplication to our major bases and promoting operation in an optimal manner for our business activities.

Promoting environmentally friendly design

We have established the "Sustainable Design Guidelines," which outline our efforts to promote "sustainable design," a design methodology for realizing a sustainable society, and are working to resolve environmental issues through the creation of a variety of spaces.

Sustainable design [Coexistence with the environment]

  • (1) In order to realize a carbon-free society, we will strive to understand and practice design methods that are conscious of reducing CO2 emissions throughout the entire life cycle of a space.
  • (2) We will be considerate of the environment in order to preserve biodiversity (coexistence with nature).

Environmental Activities in Group Companies

Tansei Institute

As part of its business activities, Tansei Institute is engaged in Environmental Consideration exhibition consulting as a consultant for creating exchanges that make use of culture, and is working on proposals for "eco-museums". The "Eco Museum" aims to revitalize the region by exploring the natural environment, history, and culture of the region and capturing the characteristics of the region, so that the tangible and intangible cultural properties of each region shine as a new attraction.

Tansei Display

Tansei Display, a design and construction company for "displays for department stores and Commercial Spaces" and "displays for art museums and cultural event spaces," is engaged in Environmental Consideration design and construction activities just like Tanseisha.

Responding to and supporting environmental public regulations and social evaluation

We support various laws, regulations, and policies related to climate change and energy consumption, and are taking appropriate measures in accordance with the Act on Promotion of Global Warming Countermeasures (Global Warming Countermeasures Act) and the Act on the Rational Use of Energy (Energy Conservation Act).
Tanseisha's head office is located in Shinagawa Season Terrace, which has a wide range of energy-saving equipment installed. In addition, in the "System for Evaluating and Publicizing the Initiatives of Specific Tenants and Other Businesses Concerning Global Warming Countermeasures" (2019) implemented by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, the company was awarded an "AAA Rank" for its excellent energy-saving measures and initiatives.
