A talk session entitled "Space, Experience and Branding" will be held to celebrate the opening of the "Kashiwa Sato Exhibition"

To commemorate the "Kashiwa Sato Exhibition" (Wednesday, February 3rd - Monday, May 10th, 2021, at the National Art Center, Tokyo), for which we helped create the space and are sponsoring it, we will be holding an online talk session titled "Space, Experience and Branding."

In this talk session, in addition to introducing the highlights of the "Sato Kashiwa Exhibition," the three speakers - Sato Kashiwa, Kawakami Hiroki (Manager of Rakuten Design Lab, Creative & CX/UX Design Strategy Department, Rakuten, Inc.), and Suzuki Akihiro of Rakuten's Cross Media Innovation Headquarters Spatial Media Produce Office - will discuss the creation of spaces and experiences, and the branding that can be achieved through them.

Contents "Rakuten [UNLIMITED SPACE]," an exhibit at the "Sato Kashiwa Exhibition," is an interactive digital installation created by Tanseisha with the Rakuten Design Lab, where Sato Kashiwa serves as chief creative director, and the Rakuten Institute of Technology at the core. We will explore the development process of this work, which was created around the theme of Rakuten technology, while talking about the thoughts put into the work, the branding expressed through the space, and the value of the experience there, as well as introducing the highlights of the "Sato Kashiwa Exhibition."

Speakers Mr. Kashiwa Sato
Creative Director
Born in Tokyo in 1965. Graduated from Tama Art University's Department Graphic Design. After working at Hakuhodo Inc., he went independent in 2000 and established "SAMURAI" in the same year. As a total producer of brand strategies, his consistent work, from concept creation to communication plan design and visual development, with his strong creativity, has earned him high praise from all quarters. He is one of Japan's leading creators, presenting new perspectives to the global society.

Hiroki Kawakami
Rakuten, Inc. Creative & CX/UX Design Strategy Department
Manager, Rakuten Design Lab

Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts. In Beacon Communications, he was in charge of Art Direction for multiple foreign global brands. In 2016, he joined Rakuten in search of an environment where he could be more deeply involved in branding. He led the design of the logo rebranding for the entire Rakuten Group, as well as brand exposure for sports sponsorships such as FC Barcelona. In 2018, he participated in the establishment of the design lab. He is currently working to make people love the brand more, focusing on the creative aspects of the Rakuten corporate brand.
Akihiro Suzuki
Head of the Spatial Media Produce Department at Cross Media Innovation Headquarters
Joined Tanseisha in 1999. Has been involved in creating spaces in a wide range of fields, from events and expositions to exhibition facilities, and participated in the launch of the Cross Media Incubation Center (now Cross Media Innovation Headquarters) in 2017. Treating space as a medium for experience, he is working on creating spaces that contribute to corporate and regional branding and social innovation by creating moving experiences that combine space-making know-how with technology and ideas.
