Tanseisha has developed a 3D Tourism simulation application that can be viewed on the wearable headset "Magic Leap 1" sold by NTT Docomo, Inc. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo / President and Chief Executive Ofcer: Motoyuki Ii / hereinafter referred to as "Docomo"). This initiative is part of a collaboration with Docomo to create spatial value using ICT technology. You can experience it as "GOTO 3D MAP" in a demonstration experiment using ICT technology held at the same time as "Goto City UI-Turn Consultation Session - Feel Goto! Experience Island Life with XR" to be held at "Nihonbashi Nagasakikan" (Chuo City Tokyo) on Saturday, December 25th and Sunday, December 26th.
Summary and key points of the demonstration experiment content
In the "GOTO 3D MAP" that can be experienced in this demonstration experiment, by wearing "Magic Leap 1", a 3D map will appear in front of you using mixed reality (*1) technology. You can get a bird's-eye view of Goto City even from a remote location, encouraging new discoveries. Furthermore, on the map, you can learn about Goto City's famous places, culture, and topography, and enjoy watching animations and activities, allowing you to experience the charm of the area with a sense of realism even in situations where it is difficult to go there in person. In addition, you can experience content tailored to your interests, such as getting more detailed information by touching markers on the map with hand gestures.

Future outlook
In the future, as part of our efforts to support regional revitalization, we will equip this application with content tailored to the region and use it as a tool to bring out the charm of the region and widely promote Tourism resources.
Tanseisha will continue to contribute to revitalizing the local community in various ways by combining its experience as a partner to the local community, not only in building facilities but also in helping to solve problems, with cutting-edge digital technology.
- *1. MR (Mixed Reality) is a technology that enables a device to grasp the shapes of the real world and overlay digital Video onto them.
Comments from stakeholders
Toshinari Sawabata (Director of the Spatial Media Planning Office, Spatial Media Marketing Division, Tanseisha Cross Media Innovation Headquarters /Head of Content Development)
Since July 2018, we have been collaborating with Docomo to create spatial value by promoting digital transformation. As part of this, we were quick to focus on the mixed reality market, which creates synergy with real spaces, and have been working with Docomo to create new experiential value since before the release of "Magic Leap 1" in Japan. With this application, we hope to provide a new experience of the region's attractions by using digital technology to allow users to see the region's Tourism resources in a different way than before. Based on this demonstration experiment, we will continue to make proposals and take measures to introduce the application to regions and facilities.
Takashi Kamata (Head of Regional Revitalization Support Office, Cultural Spaces Business Department, Tanseisha)
At the Tanseisha Group, our Regional Revitalization Support Office is at the center of examining the issues facing local communities from multiple angles, and as a partner to the local community, we support the creation of new stories for the future, from the early planning stages of a business to participating in management. Even if it is difficult to go directly to a local area when considering moving there, we feel there is great potential in using MR technology to allow people to experience the charm of the area in a realistic way no matter where they are. We hope to contribute even further to regional revitalization by making proposals that include the use of such cutting-edge digital technology.
