RAYARD MIYASHITA PARK to conduct demonstration experiment of NFT sales using digital signage

  • News Release

Tanseisha, together with Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and Director: Komoda Masanobu; hereinafter referred to as "Mitsui Fudosan"), will be conducting a demonstration experiment to sell NFT (※1) art using the open atrium plaza and digital signage on the South 2F of RAYARD MIYASHITA PARK, a commercial facility within MIYASHITA PARK (Location: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo).

The first NFT pop-up event by ceramic artist Takahiro Koga and B-OWND, an art and craft platform provided by Tanseisha, "Takahiro Koga -CRYPTO- ~Pottery x NFT in the Age of Uprisings~ produced by B-OWND" will be held from Monday, April 4, 2022 to Monday, April 11, 2022.

The event will feature new real artworks and 3DCG digital art by up-and-coming artist Takahiro Koga. The artworks will be displayed in sync with the pillar-shaped digital signage that stands out in the building, showcasing new possibilities for art exhibitions in a commercial facility in Shibuya.

During the event, visitors will be given a whitelist (※2) NFT, which will give them the right to pre-purchase the digital art-inspired NFT art "NEO MANEKINEKO -BREAK-". 100 people will be chosen by lottery from among the whitelist registrants to receive the NFT art as a gift. After the event, the NFT art can be purchased on the NFT sales platform app "HARTi®︎".

Through this demonstration experiment, the two companies aim to explore the possibility of creating new experiential value in spaces and enhancing the experiential value of artworks.

(*1) NFT (Non-Fungible Token): A non-fungible token that can create the value of unique, "one-of-a-kind data." By utilizing blockchain technology, it is possible to create digital data that is difficult to tamper with.
(※2) Whitelist: A registration list that allows users to participate in presales, etc. by indicating their interest in NFT projects and works in advance.

~Ceramicist Takahiro Koga and B-OWND host first NFT pop-up event~

Background

Tanseisha and Mitsui Fudosan, which have been involved in creating spaces and generating excitement in the real world, are now proposing their own unique approach to NFTs, contributing to the maturation of the NFT market and working to create new experiential value for spaces.
As part of this effort, a demonstration experiment was conducted to use digital signage in the plaza, which is a symbol of a commercial facility visited by many people, to give it a new meaning as a gallery. Taking advantage of the convenience of digital works, such as the elimination of the costs of moving and managing the works, the experiment will see how it contributes to improving the value of the works and the experiential value of the facility.
During the event, sensors including cameras will be installed around the venue using the spatial data platform "KOTOWARI™" (※3) provided by Pixie Dust Technologies Inc. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Director: Yoichi Ochiai, hereinafter referred to as "PxDT"), with which Tanseisha is collaborating, to collect data such as visitor attributes and length of stay, which will be used for verification measurements.

Collaborating artist: Ceramic artist Takahiro Koga

Born in Fukuoka Prefecture in 1987. Graduated from the Saga University Faculty of Culture and Education, Department of Art and Crafts in 2010. Inspired by Sen no Rikyu, Koga advocates "anti-wabi-sabi" in the sense of emphasizing the presence of his works. In order to visualize the power inherent in objects, he uses studs to express prominent figures. He crystallizes prominent figures that will change the world in porcelain.

About B-OWND

Launched in May 2019, B-OWND is an online marketplace that sells craft works as art that expresses Japanese beauty. By carefully introducing artists and their works, the platform aims to connect artists with buyers. In addition, B-OWND allows you to purchase works that come with a blockchain-based digital certificate of authenticity. The fact that you have purchased a work is recorded semi-permanently, and each person's aesthetic sense is engraved in the history of art and crafts.
