THE TOKYO PASS -Culture project, which is comprised of four businesses - Tanseisha, Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture (Sumida-ku, Tokyo; Chairman: Hieda Hisashi; hereinafter referred to as "Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture"), Tokyo Convention Tourism Bureau (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Chairman: Kaneko Shingo; hereinafter referred to as "Tokyo Tourism & Visitors Bureau"), and JTB Corporation (Shinagawa City, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Yamakita Eijiro; hereinafter referred to as "JTB") - is launching a new service, "THE TOKYO PASS -Culture" (hereinafter referred to as "the Service"), to make cultural Tourism in Tokyo more comfortable and enriching for foreign visitors to Japan (hereinafter referred to as "inbound")

This service is aimed at expanding the cultural Tourism experience in Tokyo, with the aim of recovering inbound tourism from the COVID-19 pandemic, and is an inbound tourist travel pass that includes admission to 38 public and private cultural facilities in Tokyo, including Museums gardens, zoos, aquariums, and botanical gardens, as well as the "Tokyo Subway Ticket," which allows unlimited use of all subways. Everything from purchasing the pass to entering the facilities can be completed on your smartphone.
In cooperation with participating facilities, users can enter the facility safely and smoothly without cash or touching thanks to a prepayment for a pass based on the number of days of use and an admission system that utilizes a dedicated app. Furthermore, through the content within the app, users are guided not only to the facilities but also to the culture rooted in the city, providing a rich cultural Tourism experience.
In preparation for the launch of this service, we plan to conduct a demonstration experiment mainly targeting foreign residents in Japan from mid-May onwards. (We will take into consideration and examine the social situation regarding inbound acceptance, and will notify you once it has been confirmed.) The demonstration experiment will be carried out in compliance with the applicable "COVID-19 Infection Prevention Guidelines" for each facility. We plan to launch the service after verifying the results of the demonstration experiment.

About "THE TOKYO PASS -Culture Project"
In 2019, when the number of foreign tourists visiting Tokyo topped 15 million, a preparatory committee was launched to create better cultural Tourism experiences for inbound tourists. The Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture, which operates Museums run by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and Tanseisha, which creates and operates exhibition facilities such as Museums across the country, compiled issues and requests regarding the reception of inbound tourists at cultural facilities, while the Tokyo Convention & Tourism Bureau, which is well-versed in inbound Tourism in Tokyo, and JTB, which has ample experience planning and operating Tourism services, made recommendations on issues regarding use and operation and on improving convenience.
The project has been underway as a joint venture between the four companies since September 2020. The main roles of each company are as follows:
・Tanseisha: General service Produce, administrative office
・Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture: Cultural planning collaboration
・Tokyo Tourism Bureau: Public relations planning collaboration
・JTB: Service operation assistance, sales support
