We would like to announce that at Director meeting held on March 10, 2023, a resolution was passed regarding the following changes in the Representative Director and officers.
Based on this resolution, Takashi Takahashi of President and Chief Executive Of cer has been appointed Chairman of the Director and Osamu Kobayashi, Senior Managing Director of Director, has been transferred to President and Chief Executive Of cer. In order to quickly recover the Company's business performance, which has stagnated in a rapidly changing social environment, Mr. Kobayashi will lead management by utilizing his experience and knowledge cultivated in a wide range of sales fields, and Mr. Takahashi, the current president, will support Kobayashi for a smooth transition to the new management structure and will play a role in improving the effectiveness of the supervisory function of the Director Association.
This matter is scheduled to be formally decided after approval at the 65th Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders scheduled to be held on April 26, 2023 and subsequent meetings of the Director.
Tanseisha sees the changes in the socio-economic environment as an opportunity for growth, and will establish a business foundation under a new management structure to put the business back on a growth track. Comment from Osamu Kobayashi, new President and Chief Executive Of cer (scheduled to take office on April 26, 2023)
Our company's performance has been significantly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and the global economic turmoil that has lasted for three years. We will work to quickly recover our performance by establishing a business foundation under a new management structure and by 2024, when the next medium-term management plan begins, to return to the business stage we were in before the COVID-19 pandemic, when we were on a growth trajectory. In recent years, we have strengthened our efforts to improve added value by promoting digital transformation of spaces in areas that have yet to be touched in the surrounding areas of our business domain of spatial creation. As the person in charge of new business development, I have been working to further foster and spread a corporate culture that is geared toward creating new businesses that will lead to solving local and social issues in order to realize a rich and sustainable society, and I will do my best to help the budding buds of innovation blossom. Even in the midst of rapid changes in the socio-economic environment, I will find growth opportunities, change the mindset of my own executives and employees, and promote organizational change to lay the foundation for the new "Tanseisha."
Profile of Osamu Kobayashi
Born in Nagano Prefecture in 1959. After graduating from the Faculty of Economics at Hosei University in 1983, he joined TANSEISHA Co., Ltd. in 1984. He started out by creating Commercial Spaces for specialty stores, and was in charge of Project Management for large commercial facilities and entertainment facilities such as theme parks. He has also been involved in projects related to events such as the World Expo and corporate promotions, gaining experience in a wide range of fields. After serving as head of the sales and sales planning departments, he was appointed head of the IMC (Integrated Marketing Communication) Division in 2008 and the CS (Commercial & Communication Space) Division in 2015, focusing on improving the value provided as a member of management. After serving as Director in 2016, he will assume his current position in 2022.
