Tanseisha, Enoshima Electric Railway, and Mitsui Chemicals will begin test runs to improve the in-car experience

  • News Release

Tanseisha, Enoshima Electric Railway Co., Ltd. (Enoshima Electric President and Chief Executive Ofcer), and Mitsui Chemicals, President and Chief Executive Ofcer (Mitsui Chemicals) will begin test operations on August 31, 2024, to install Posica® Kukkiri™ film on the windows of some trains. The film reduces glare from the sun while making the scenery appear more vivid. The aim is to improve the in-train experience for customers.

Posica® Kukkiri™ film, developed through a collaboration between Tanseisha and Mitsui Chemicals, is a window film based on the concept of "changing the world in a positive and beautiful way," and has the effect of making the scenery, such as the ocean and blue sky, appear more vivid while reducing the glare of sunlight. It has been used in a variety of spaces, but has been particularly well-received in the windows of hotels and restaurants with great views, so this time it was tested on a vehicle for the first time.

During the test on the Enoshima Electric Railway, passengers will be able to experience how the vividness and glare of the scenery seen from the train windows changes compared to normal windows. We will continue to conduct test runs with the aim of providing a more vivid view of everyday scenery and a more comfortable interior space.

What is Pozica® Clear™ Film?

This window film uses the "Kukkiri™ Dye" technology developed by Mitsui Chemicals to selectively block yellow light, making the scenery seen through the film appear natural while still showing vivid colors.
The brand name embodies our hope that by looking at the world through Posica® Clear™ film, people will become brighter and more positive.
By applying Posica® Clear™ film to windows, the colors of the blue sky, ocean, green trees, red flowers, etc. appear deeper and more vivid, and the clouds floating in the blue sky appear whiter. It has the function of preventing glass from shattering and blocking 99% of UV rays, protecting the interior while providing a richer spatial experience.
Posica® Clear™ film is sold by Mitsui Chemicals Fine Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsui Chemicals.
