JDN INC., a member of the Tanseisha Group, launched a new contest-style project called "KNOCK" on July 16th on its web media "Design no Tobira" aimed at people considering going on to art colleges or design schools. The new project connects companies/organizations with high school students by soliciting creative works. As the first part of the contest, JDN INC. itself called for submissions for the main graphic to be displayed on the official page of the project.
We would like to thank all of the applicants for their unique, fresh and appealing works. After a rigorous screening process, we would like to announce the winning works.

Grand Prize

"A strong knock that stimulates the senses"
Tatsumi Nakanishi (2nd year student at Kanagawa University High School)
[Concept of the work]
When we hear the word "KNOCK," we think of a knock on a door, but there is more to it than that. When we sense a strong stimulus through our five senses, it gives rise to new ideas that we have never had before. These external stimuli are a "knock" on ourselves that shatters our common sense and preconceived ideas. In this work, we were also conscious of design, and created it to be a two-dimensional expression rather than pursuing realism. We expressed the power of a strong knock shattering conventional wisdom.
Special Jury Award

"Into the Sparkle"
Sae Yamaguchi (1st year student at Nozawa Kita High School)
[Concept of the work]
It evokes the feeling of excitement in a bright, shining world of design, filled with newness and fun.
About the new contest-style project "KNOCK"
"KNOCK" is a year-round project on the online media "Design no Tobira," and is a platform where companies and organizations can have deep and long-lasting connections with high school students through the story of the contest, which involves soliciting and submitting works, judging, and awarding prizes.
In this project, various companies and organizations will irregularly present a "theme (contents of the contest)," and high school students will submit works in response to the theme that is published at that time. Companies and organizations will be able to obtain fresh and creative works with free ideas, and high school students will be able to deepen their awareness of their companies and industries. For high school students, learning about various industries and companies through submitting their works will be useful for career choices, future internships, and job hunting.
JDN INC. is looking forward to companies and organizations submitting themes for the second round and beyond.
