Tanseisha has received validation from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), an international environmental initiative, for its greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction targets for fiscal year 2030, which it set as part of its climate change countermeasures, as scientifically based "near-term targets" (*1).
Under our purpose, "Drawing the future from space, adding new colors to people and society." our group has identified "coexistence with the environment" as one of its material issues and is working to reduce the environmental impact of our business activities. We have now set greenhouse gas reduction targets in line with the SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative) standards and aligned with the "1.5°C target" of the Paris Agreement, and these targets have been validated by the SBTi (*2).
Greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction targets based on validated scientific evidence
Our company aims to achieve the following goals by fiscal year 2030, using fiscal year 2024 as the base year.

Future initiatives
Efforts toward Scope 1 and 2
We will promote the reduction of our direct and indirect emissions by gradually expanding energy efficiency in our offices and business premises and introducing renewable energy-derived electricity.
Efforts toward Scope 3
Focusing on the areas with the largest proportion of emissions in our business activities—"purchased products and services (Category 1)," "waste generated from our business (Category 5)," and "use of products we sell (Category 11)"—we will work to reduce the environmental impact across our entire value chain by utilizing "sustainable design guidelines," selecting Environmental Consideration materials, and collaborating with partner companies.
We will continue to promote initiatives to reduce our environmental impact throughout our own operations and supply chain, and contribute to the development of a sustainable society.

The Science Based Targets (SBTi) initiative is an international environmental initiative that encourages companies to set science-based GHG emission reduction targets (SBTs) to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement. It is operated by a Welsh-registered charity (1205768), and the practical work of verifying the validity of targets is handled by its wholly owned subsidiary, SBTi Services Limited (SBTi Services).
(*2) Regarding short-term targets
Under the SBTi standard, these are science-based emission reduction targets set to encourage rapid and significant reductions over a 5-10 year period (2030 in this target).

Scope 1: Direct emissions from the company's own fuel use and business activities.
Scope 2: Indirect emissions from the use of electricity, heat, and steam supplied by other companies.
