"Four Earth" is an e-commerce site specializing in discontinued products, such as building materials, lighting fixtures, and decorative materials, which were discontinued due to technological advances and changing trends, and was launched with the aim of making effective use of these discontinued products. Tanseisha, which has been involved in creating spaces in a variety of fields, cooperates with various manufacturers to select and consolidate discontinued products from the perspective of spatial design, thereby putting them back into the commercial flow and encouraging their widespread use.
Through this initiative, Tanseisha will contribute to curbing industrial waste generation and reducing CO2 emissions, which are issues in its main business of space creation, and contribute to the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) that should be achieved by 2030 and the realization of a carbon-free society by 2050. Furthermore, we will expand our activities to help make the display industry a sustainable industry in the future.

News Release

Tanseisha begins full-scale operation of "4earth," an e-commerce site specializing in discontinued building and decorative materials - Collaborating with interior-related manufacturers to find new uses for discontinued products -

Background of the initiative

The various building materials used in creating spaces change and evolve daily with the development of new materials and new designs, contributing greatly to the development of spatial design. However, products that have become obsolete due to the discontinuation of production and sales have been an issue for manufacturers and the entire display industry. Therefore, with the cooperation of various manufacturers, we have decided to consolidate information on discontinued products that were scattered and set up a new sales channel to handle them comprehensively, so that discontinued products can be put back into the commercial flow. Interior-related manufacturers and space creation professionals, Tanseisha, will work together to select products, incorporating the perspective of spatial design, and propose a wider range of ways to utilize discontinued products.
Through this initiative, manufacturers can expect to reduce inventory management costs in warehouses, curb industrial waste at the time of final disposal, and reduce CO2 emissions. In addition, by proactively adopting discontinued products, design companies, construction companies, etc. can not only reduce costs, but also respond to social needs, such as contributing to the realization of the SDGs and a carbon-free society.

Expanding the "For Earth" initiative will lead to reducing waste and making effective use of resources and materials, which are issues in the display industry. Due to the nature of discontinued products, stock is limited, so the main users are expected to be small and medium-sized construction companies and interior renovation companies that handle small quantities. However, DIY-oriented general consumers, whose numbers have increased during the COVID-19 pandemic, will also be able to widely consider adopting authentic building materials. (*2)
In addition to expanding the number of items we handle, we will utilize our know-how in creating spaces to promote the development of this business, which is an opportunity to utilize discontinued items, by developing original products using discontinued items and providing consulting on the SDGs. We will also actively contribute to achieving the SDGs by 2030 and work toward realizing a carbon-free society by 2050.
(※2) Installation of some products may require specialized tools or various licenses. We ask that you consider this thoroughly, such as consulting with a specialist company, before purchasing the product.
