  • News Release

Tanseisha was selected as the successful bidder for the "(tentative name) New Lake Biwa Culture Center Development Project," a PFI project * planned by Shiga Prefecture. After that, we established a special purpose company (SPC) called "Biwako C&S Co., Ltd.", and on October 13, 2023, following a resolution from the prefectural assembly, we signed a business contract (this contract) with Shiga Prefecture.

This project aims to build a new Lake Biwa Culture Museum (tentative name) on a new site to take over the role that the prefectural Lake Biwa Culture Museum, which had a history of about 50 years, played in 2008 due to deterioration and other reasons. In addition to the traditional museum functions of storing and exhibiting cultural assets, the museum will also function as a "regional cultural assets support center" and a "visitor center that will serve as a cultural Tourism hub," aiming to open in December 2027 as a core base for preserving, inheriting, utilizing and promoting the cultural assets of Omi, Shiga Prefecture.

Based on the business concept of "Creating a base for creating the future of Omi culture - Passing on the excitement of cultural assets to the world and the future", our group will work with Shiga Prefecture to create facilities that are loved by local residents and provide high-quality public services.
