  • News Release

Tanseisha has fully renovated an over 50-year-old building located in Nihonbashi Chuo City Tokyo, and opened it as "Wind Kodenmacho" in March 2024. To recruit tenants for the 2nd to 8th floors, a preview event will be held from Monday, April 22nd to Wednesday, April 24th, 2024.

"Wind Kodenmacho" is a project undertaken as part of the "R2 (Real-estate Revitalization)" business, which utilizes the spatial creation know-how and network that Tanseisha has cultivated to renovate small and medium-sized old buildings in urban areas into offices with more comfortable working environments and increase real estate value. Based on the concept of "using buildings for 100 years," the project aims to contribute to the prevention of climate change by promoting "stock utilization," which uses existing buildings for as long as possible.

Tanseisha will continue to work towards the realization of a sustainable society through its business activities.

About R2

The concept is to use the building for 100 years.
The average lifespan of reinforced concrete offices in Japan is just over 50 years. On the other hand, the physical service life of an RC structure is said to exceed 100 years. (*1) With appropriate seismic reinforcement and renovation of finishes and facilities, it is possible to use a building for 100 years. At R2, we aim to reduce CO2 emissions from buildings and contribute to curbing climate change by shifting our approach to buildings from "scrap and build," which involves demolishing old buildings and replacing them with new ones, to "stock utilization," which involves using existing buildings for as long as possible.

About Wind Kodenmacho

Adding a new value to office space: sustainability
Properly utilizing the building until the end of its intended lifespan was the basic concept behind the renovation of Wind Kodenmacho.
Although it has been over 50 years since the Wind Kodenmacho Building was completed in 1972, the original "structure (framework)" has been utilized, safety has been ensured through earthquake-resistance reinforcement work, and the "facilities" such as electricity, water supply and drainage, and air conditioning have been renewed, as well as the "finishing" of the interior and exterior, to revive the building as one that can withstand the next 50 years. We propose the idea of "sustainability," which is required in the current era, as a new value when choosing an office.
