News Release

Tanseisha is participating in a demonstration experiment on circular economy at "terminal.0 HANEDA," a co-creation and research and development center with airports as its main theme. ~Verifying the practicality of sustainable materials with a view to their use in space creation~

Background of the initiative

In recent years, efforts to recycle resources and reduce the environmental impact of facilities have been accelerating. In particular, the creation of spaces through the use of renewable materials and wood has become prominent as a symbolic movement for the effective use of resources, and Tanseisha is also exploring sustainable initiatives that can be implemented from the perspective of space creation.

In this demonstration experiment, a renewable board was produced by combining "insulation board," made from recycled building demolition materials and reused and unused wood from sawmills produced by Daiken Corporation, with "PANECO®," a fiber recycled board made from discarded clothing fibers produced by Work Studio Co., Ltd. This demonstration experiment was started in order to verify the practicality of the board by using and promoting the material in an actual space, and to identify the issues and possibilities for practical application.

After completing the demonstration experiment, the company will make improvements based on the knowledge gained, aiming to widely deploy the system at airport-related facilities, including Haneda Airport, as well as commercial facilities. Through this initiative, the company will explore the possibilities brought about by resource-recycling spatial design and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.

Demonstration experiment overview

The toilet booths can be installed and removed without major renovation work, and because they are equipment that everyone uses, they are expected to be useful as a place to raise awareness and foster consciousness among users. They will be installed as the doors, walls, and counters of the toilet booths in "terminal.0," in which Daiken Corporation and our company are participating, and messages about resource circulation will be posted inside the booths to raise awareness among users and foster awareness of sustainability. We will also conduct user surveys and continue to verify the system for future practical use.
