Tanseisha launches four-company collaborative project to recycle organic cotton scraps into art
~Art sales will begin on the e-commerce site on March 3, 2026~

The impression of the panels and art changes depending on the fabric used.

Project Overview

Using dry fiber technology, which can fiberize organic cotton towel offcuts that were previously discarded, we are regenerating them into panels with a unique texture derived from the organic cotton fibers, and then creating "one-of-a-kind art" by printing artists' works on these panels with high-resolution resolution. We are upcycling these offcuts into art that incorporates the artist's sensibility.

This project, which originated from co-creation activities at "point 0 marunouchi," a co-working space that also serves as a proof-of-concept testing space for the "office space of the future," in which Tanseisha and Epson are participating, has been promoted in collaboration with Tanseisha, which has a long history of conducting proof-of-concept testing related to art; Epson, which has dry fiber technology; NOMAL, which has a network with various artists and operates the e-commerce site "WASABI," and IKEUCHI ORGANIC, which manufactures organic cotton towels.
The four companies will continue to strengthen their collaboration, aiming to build a more sustainable and attractive manufacturing model. Furthermore, Tanseisha will not only expand its use as art, primarily for individuals, but will also consider utilizing it in the spaces it designs, including offices. Furthermore, by taking advantage of the characteristics of Dry Fiber Technology, which can turn a variety of materials into fibers and decompose them, the company will also consider initiatives to upcycle various materials, such as clothing and paper, into furniture, fixtures, and building materials, which are elements of space creation.

Comment from Yumiko Kiso, Executive Officer and Head of Marketing & Sustainability Headquarters

As a company that specializes in spatial design, we believe that we must not only reduce the burden on the environment when creating new things, but also create new value by combining the various sustainability technologies and knowledge that other companies possess with our creativity.
By utilizing Epson's dry fiber technology, this initiative not only reduces waste and environmental impact by using almost no water, but also brings a unique texture to art. I believe this is an initiative that could only be realized through co-creation, brought about by the combination of sustainability-related technology and ideas. Going forward, we will expand the range of materials (the entry point) and products/creations (the exit point), exploring various uses centered on spatial creation.
