B-OWND, an art and craft platform provided by Tanseisha, will open a new gallery, "B-OWND Gallery," on September 10, 2026 (Thursday) on the ground floor of TOFROM YAESU, a large-scale mixed-use complex in Yaesu 1-chome, in front of Tokyo Station.

This gallery will further develop the efforts that B-OWND has cultivated through its permanent gallery since 2023, which aim to connect craft works as art with viewers in a tangible way. In addition to exhibiting and selling works by B-OWND participating artists, the gallery will also host tea ceremonies in collaboration with TeaRoom Co., Ltd., which reinterprets the tea ceremony for the modern age, and will implement urban development and community initiatives in cooperation with Tokyo Tatemono Co., Ltd., which is participating as a member of the TOFROM YAESU redevelopment association.
B-OWND is participating in "Personal Structures," an official satellite event of the Venice Biennale 2026, which has been held in Venice, Italy since May 2026, and is hosting the exhibition "Relational Logic — Beyond Dualism, a World Reconnected." The new gallery is positioned as a domestic base that connects the idea presented in this exhibition—which reconnects fragmented values through "relationships"—to the everyday urban experience of Yaesu, Tokyo. Moving forward, B-OWND will continue to strive to contribute to the popularization of art and craft works, the creation of new values for Japanese culture, and the expansion of the art market both domestically and internationally, under its mission of "making everyone a participant in art."
News Release
Background of the initiative
Since its launch in 2019, B-OWND has been promoting craftworks rooted in Japanese aesthetics and traditional techniques as contemporary art. Through online marketplace sales, blockchain-based artwork certification, artist introductions via media, and exhibitions and events both domestically and internationally, B-OWND continues to connect artists with collectors, spaces with art, and culture with industry.
In 2023, we opened our first permanent gallery, "B-OWND Gallery," at Hankyu Men's Tokyo, creating a space for real communication where people can actually touch the works and encounter the artists' thoughts and creative backgrounds. In addition to exhibiting and selling works, the venue hosts tea ceremonies and sake gatherings using the artists' tea utensils, as well as solo and group exhibitions, proposing craft as art not just to "see," but also to "use," "talk about," and "participate" in.
Based on that experience, the new gallery will expand in scale and functionality, located in front of Tokyo Station in Yaesu, a gateway to the city where people from both Japan and abroad come and go. In Yaesu, where the memories of culture and commerce that have continued since the Edo period intersect with cutting-edge urban functions, B-OWND will reintegrate cultures that tend to be individually separated in the modern age, such as art, various crafts, tea ceremony, food, space, and pop culture, and propose a new set of values for Japanese culture that is both ancient and new.
Concept of the new gallery
From a "sales floor" to a "place" where works and people can connect.
"B-OWND Gallery" aims to be more than just a place for selling artwork; it strives to be a place where people can gather, experience, and converse, using the artwork as a starting point, and where various elements can connect and form relationships.
The gallery space was designed by Taisuke Kamiguchi Principal Creative Director of our Design Center. The design concept is "randomness and authenticity." Instead of the typical white cube found in many galleries, the space incorporates elements of traditional Japanese wooden architecture, such as the techniques of sukiya carpenters and wooden frames and bamboo laths, into a modern urban setting.
Rather than overly Spatial Production the artist's creativity, the gallery functions as a quiet backdrop, creating a space that enhances the viewer's sensitivity through materials, craftsmanship, light, and negative space. Furthermore, the gallery experience as a whole reflects the "NEO WABI-SABI" and "logic of relationships" philosophies that B-OWND has presented both domestically and internationally. Instead of treating Japan's unique aesthetic sense and traditions as fixed relics of the past, the gallery updates them into a new cultural experience open to people living today by intersecting them with contemporary urban life, technology, food, tea, and pop culture.
Gallery Features
1. Exhibit and sell works by B-OWND participating artists.
We plan, exhibit, and sell works by artists who challenge themselves to express themselves as art, drawing on the techniques and materials of traditional crafts such as ceramics, metalwork, bamboo crafts, dolls, glass, and lacquerware. By conveying the ideas and production processes behind the works, we carefully connect viewers with the artists.
2. We regularly hold planned exhibitions, solo exhibitions, and group exhibitions.
The gallery will regularly host solo exhibitions by participating artists, group exhibitions featuring multiple artists, and special exhibitions linked to domestic and international IPs and art scenes. When the gallery opens, it will take into account the philosophy of the exhibitions that B-OWND has been developing in Venice, as well as the expressions of the participating artists, and will feature exhibitions that intersect crafts, contemporary art, tea ceremony, and pop culture, as well as a special exhibition by ceramic artist Takahiro Koga.
3. Tea ceremony and experience program in collaboration with TeaRoom
In collaboration with TeaRoom Inc., which aims to reinterpret the Japanese tea ceremony for the modern age, we will be developing tea ceremonies and experiential programs using tea utensils created by B-OWND participating artists. Beyond simply appreciating the artwork, we aim to create opportunities for participants to physically experience the value of these craft pieces by actually handling them, tasting tea, and engaging in conversation.
4. A cultural hub open to the Yaesu area, created in collaboration with Tokyo Tatemono.
In line with TOFROM YAESU's concept of "connecting people, time, and place," we will operate the gallery in collaboration with Tokyo Tatemono as a cultural hub and community-building space open to the Yaesu area. We aim to create a place where diverse people—business professionals, domestic and international visitors, art collectors, cultural entrepreneurs, and more—can meet, engage in dialogue, and generate new value.
