COCOSTAT is a spatial data analysis service that allows you to understand how space is being used while respecting privacy.

"COCOSTAT" is a spatial data analysis service that uses the small battery sensor "butlr" from Butlr Technologies Inc. in the United States to handle everything from sensor installation and analysis planning to data acquisition, analysis, and reporting for effective and efficient data acquisition tailored to the spatial environment and purpose. By utilizing the infrared sensor "butlr" that does not require wiring, the number of people and flow of people in a space can be easily detected without identifying individuals. As part of our collaboration with Butlr on the collection and utilization of spatial usage data, we came up with the idea to optimize the spatial layout and improve facility operations.

Features of "COCOSTAT"

Easy to incorporate into space design
analysis design

Data analysis is not just about acquiring data, but also about utilizing it. By focusing on the spatial utilization status that can be easily utilized for the next action of analysis, improvement, we can achieve effective analysis.

No electrical wiring required
Easy to install

The sensor body is battery-operated, so no electrical wiring is required. The base plate can be attached to the ceiling with screws, or it can be directly installed using a magnet depending on the specifications of the ceiling.

Personally identifiable information
Don't get

By utilizing infrared sensors, human movements and locations can be detected by body temperature, making it possible to analyze data in the space without identifying individual facility users or visitors, while protecting their privacy.

Examples of use

  • ・Office: Considering layout for renovation or relocation
By obtaining information on the usage status of work spaces and meeting rooms, it is possible to identify current office issues and use the information to consider layout improvements.

  • ・Retail stores: For considering product display layout and flow
By collecting and analyzing data on the number of people occupying each area, the duration of their stay, and customer movement, you can use the information when considering fixture layout and shelf allocation.

  • ・Commercial facilities: For A/B testing when implementing marketing initiatives
When making changes to advertisements, promotions, posters or signs, changes in customer trends can be collected and analyzed as data, which can be used to create more effective facilities.
