Creating a real and virtual space

Tanseisha works with creators with cutting-edge technology in a variety of fields to create new spaces that foster communication by combining the characteristics of the real and virtual worlds, including digital twins.
Utilizing the experience and knowledge we have gained in creating real spaces in a wide range of fields, we aim to maximize the value we provide by deepening the communication between people, things, and information through the combination of real and virtual spaces.

Features of the real and virtual spaces created by Tanseisha

Spatial planning to enhance the experience

Utilizing the know-how we have accumulated in creating a variety of spaces, we will create communication plans for people, objects, and information that take into account the experience and storytelling in both real and virtual spaces, leading to increased satisfaction for those who experience them.

An immersive virtual space that approaches reality

Using design data from real spaces to construct virtual spaces, we can reflect designs that take into account architectural structure and human scale, and convey a comfortable scale, a sense of security, a sense of intimacy with the form, and a sense of realism even in virtual spaces.

Examples of spatial implementation combining real and virtual

"point 0 marunouchi" Conference 2020

In order to hold an online conference in the futuristic office space "point 0 marunouchi," we created a virtual space based on the design data of the real space.
At the conference, a system was introduced that allowed visitors to enter the "point 0 marunouchi" space as avatars and move around point 0 and operate the touch panel. In addition to being able to experience some of the solutions being tested in the actual space, visitors were also able to interact with point 0 members.

Development Background

As part of the project, point 0 holds a conference called "point 0 ignite" every six months to announce past results and upcoming demonstration experiments. At "point 0 ignite 2020 summer" held in September 2020, point 0 marunouchi was recreated in a virtual space as a facility tour for the With/After COVID-19 era. Online visitors were able to freely tour the facility and have a variety of experiences as if they were visiting the real space.

VR farewell party

Kamakura Shinsho Co., Ltd., a company that provides end-of-life-related services, Produce a farewell party called "Story," and held a farewell party in both real and virtual spaces.
The farewell party held by the two companies was able to avoid crowding by linking a pre-created virtual space with the actual venue, providing a farewell opportunity that more people could attend.
The farewell party Produce service ``Story'' was transferred from Kamakura Shinsho Co., Ltd. to Houseboat Club Co., Ltd. in February 2022, and is currently operated on two different platforms.

Development Background

Story, a farewell party Produce run by Kamakura Shinsho Co., Ltd., sees farewell parties as a place to celebrate the life of the deceased and provide grief care (※) for the surviving family members to live a better life in the future. However, due to the recent aging population and travel restrictions caused by the spread of COVID-19, this important opportunity has been lost. Therefore, by embodying the farewell party in a virtual space, we have created a place where more people can participate safely and easily.

(*) Grief care: Providing support to those who are grieving the loss of a loved one so that they can recover from their grief.

Innovation Space DEJIMA Digital

We have begun joint development of "Innovation Space DEJIMA Digital" with ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation, aiming to establish a new open innovation model through communication using VR technology. "Innovation Space DEJIMA Digital" is a virtual space reconstructed using VR (virtual reality) technology of "Innovation Space DEJIMA," which opened in 2017 as a place for creating open innovation.

Development Background

In light of the fact that the COVID-19 pandemic has made it difficult to have places for co-creation both inside and outside the company to generate business innovation, we have begun development to provide a new place in the new normal era. We aim to create a spatial DX environment to encourage the deepening of "space for communication," such as casual conversations before and after meetings that can lead to new business hints and serendipitous realizations that are difficult to generate in online meetings and seminars.

Construction of "Innovation Space DEJIMA Digital"

We used the 3D data we had created when we designed "Innovation Space DEJIMA" to reconstruct the virtual space online.

Demonstration experiment ver1.0

By building a system that senses the location information of real-life visitors and synchronizes it with the virtual space, we conducted a demonstration experiment aimed at achieving seamless communication between the real and virtual worlds.

While it has become difficult to hold events that bring together large numbers of people in real spaces, we used "Innovation Space DEJIMA Digital" as a venue for internal events and held a report session on an overseas study tour. Taking advantage of the location information synchronization system, we also held a quiz competition in which participants could participate from both the real and virtual worlds, creating an immersive experience that transcends dimensions.
Demonstration experiment ver2.0

"Innovation Space DEJIMA Digital" was updated to provide a more casual virtual communication experience, and a digital Showrooms tour was held introducing the efforts of both Tanseisha and Itochu Techno-Solutions.

To make virtual communication as easy as possible, we made it possible for anyone to experience it through a web browser, and also introduced a "Like" system that allows users to easily gather their interest levels through their reactions to each exhibit. In a survey conducted after the event, participants commented that they had had a stress-free experience that was unique to virtual reality.

Tanseisha Virtual Creative Meets

This digital Showrooms is a virtual version of the communication space "Creative Meets" at Tanseisha's headquarters, allowing visitors to experience Tanseisha's virtual space and metaverse-related initiatives. Because it is based on the office's design data and actual exhibits, it is possible to provide an immersive experience that approaches reality. We are also attempting to digitize the time visitors spend in each area, and plan to use this data for future updates.

Development Background

It was developed to create a space where customers who are interested in the virtual metaverse can easily experience it. The spatial experience that realizes a digital twin of the real world and the diverse Spatial Production experiences that are possible only through digital technology provide hints for those considering building or introducing a virtual metaverse.

Project Case Study

Here we will introduce some examples of virtual space utilization in which we have been involved.
