About the Project

Overview This is a space for open innovation opened by IT total solution provider Itochu Techno-Solutions. It is a passionate environment where people from various companies, startups, and industries gather together and collaborate to create new businesses from various possibilities. The name "DEJIMA" comes from "Dejima," a former hub for trade, technology, and crafts. We hope to inherit the context of that vibrant place with a modern interpretation and become a hub for the dissemination and exchange of new ideas and IT technologies.
Issues/Themes The aim is to create a co-creation space that can be used not only within the company, but also to work on innovation together with various external companies and startups.
Space Solution/Realization With the activity concept of "a place to turn ideas into reality," we focused on all the "activities" that might take place here, rather than taking an approach that limited the design to certain functions or purposes, and created a living experimental space that changes according to the activities. In addition, we asked them to develop a collaboration app that we proposed, and we are building a system that "connects people" in conjunction with the space.
