About the Project

Overview "I want to create a Western liquor culture in Japan." The Osaka Factory was built in 1919 as the place to pursue that dream, stemming from the "dream" of Suntory founder Shinjiro Torii. Now, a new tour is available that lets you experience the "challenges (and fun!)" of the Osaka Factory in realizing that dream.
Issues/Themes With the motto "Just give it a try" in mind, and with the words "Watch and see," our predecessors have repeatedly experimented and refined their craftsmanship for over 100 years, and this craftsmanship is the foundation of all Suntory's manufacturing. Through this tour, we want visitors to experience the dedication and challenges of manufacturing at the Suntory Osaka Factory.
Space Solution/Realization After introducing Shinjiro Torii's dreams, challenges, and realizations, the history of Western liquor production, ingredients, manufacturing processes, and products are presented. Visitors will experience Suntory's challenges (and fun aspects) while engaging all five senses in the manufacturing process. Suntory's serious commitment is embodied through the space, with meticulous attention paid to everything from the selection of interior materials to the quality of the finishes.
