Tanseisha will participate in NTT Docomo's (hereinafter referred to as Docomo) demonstration experiment using Multi-Access Edge Computing (hereinafter referred to as MEC) by utilizing its know-how in spatial creation and Content Planning content. This experiment can be experienced at "DOCOMO Open House 2020" (location: Tokyo Big Sight Aomi Exhibition Hall) to be held on January 23rd (Thursday) and 24th (Friday).
"MEC" is a network technology that places servers and storage closer to customers in mobile communication networks, and is expected to be used to create 5G solutions (*1). This experiment is being carried out by DOCOMO together with MobiledgeX, Inc. (MobiledgeX), an American company that provides edge computing, and aims to accelerate the creation of 5G solutions by collaborating with domestic and international partners and provide them to the global market.
In this experiment, Fujitsu utilized its know-how in Display Planning and design for Cultural Spaces and Event Spaces, and planned and produced content that allowed visitors to experience MEC's solutions through ideas and technology that utilize ICT in spaces from Fujitsu's Cross Media Innovation Headquarters. Fujitsu will continue to use the knowledge gained from the verification of this experiment to create new value in museums and other spaces.

- MobiledgeX's portal site will be connected to the "Docomo Open Innovation Cloud™" (*2), which features MEC and is connected to the Docomo network.
- 1000realities AR application distributed to "Docomo Open Innovation Cloud™"
- Large volumes of information acquired from the AR glasses' sensors and cameras are transmitted to the MEC with low latency via 5G and LTE.
- Explanations of the viewer's viewpoint are displayed in real time on the AR glasses
<Points>
- This is an AR application that does not require the display of 2D barcodes, so it does not interfere with viewing the artwork.
- Display content can be easily changed on the MEC, eliminating the need to update applications on the device

Background of participation in the demonstration experiment
Since July 2018, the two companies have been collaborating to combine our spatial creation know-how with DOCOMO's ICT technologies and solutions to create spatial value that promotes digital transformation.
This initiative is part of DOCOMO's efforts to globally deploy 5G solutions that it is developing together with a wide range of partners.
In the field of spatial creation, where we work, we foresee a need for AR and VR Spatial Production that provide high-definition content in real time as a 5G solution, which is expected to be used in a wide range of fields, including exhibitions in Cultural Spaces and Event Spaces and spatial Spatial Production in Commercial Spaces.
In this experiment, our company is in charge of Content Planning and examining the verification content. Utilizing our know-how in Display Planning for Cultural Spaces such as Museums, and Event Spaces such as exhibitions, we have planned a new appreciation experience for museums.
Taking advantage of MEC's ability to transmit large volumes of data with low latency, the technology estimates the user's location and where they are looking, and displays AR content that corresponds to that location, enabling viewers to see information about the artworks and related paintings in real time according to their line of sight. This enables a new appreciation experience that allows viewers to deepen their understanding of paintings even if they have no prior knowledge of paintings.
- *1 5G solutions are solutions required in the era of fifth-generation mobile communications (5G).
- *2 DOCOMO Open Innovation Cloud is a cloud platform that can be used to verify 5G solutions at problem-solving sites nationwide. It has the characteristics of MEC, which reduces network transmission delays and realizes a secure cloud environment, and is realized by connecting the cloud platform to DOCOMO's network.
