Tanseisha has signed a memorandum of understanding with Pixie Dust Technologies Inc. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Director: Yoichi Ochiai, hereafter referred to as PxDT) on a business alliance to improve the value provided by promoting spatial DX (digital transformation). The two companies will work together to develop and provide a one-stop service that uses PxDT's spatial data platform "KOTOWARI™" to collect, analyze, and utilize spatial sensing data, from identifying spatial issues to proposing solutions.
As the first step of the collaborative effort, the two companies have begun a demonstration experiment to measure the effectiveness of the event using sensing technology at Naoko Tosa's solo exhibition "NAOKO TOSA's Sound of Ikebana," which is being held at the NFT (*1) art pop-up gallery "HARTi Gallery" (*2). Sensors including cameras will be installed in the venue to collect data such as visitor attributes, the order in which each work is viewed, and the length of time spent at the event. Analysis of the collected data is expected to provide solutions such as improvements to traffic flow plans and layouts, and proposals for Display Planning that match the interests and concerns of visitors.

Cameras and sensors will be installed at the venue to collect data on visitors.
By visualizing and analyzing data such as the order in which works are viewed and the duration of visits, it becomes possible to provide a variety of solutions.
Through this collaboration, the two companies will combine PxDT's digital technology with Tanseisha's spatial creation know-how to work together to improve the value provided in spaces that utilize technology.
*1 NFT (Non-Fungible Token): A non-fungible token that can create the value of unique, one-of-a-kind data. By utilizing blockchain technology, it is possible to create digital data that is difficult to tamper with.
*2 A gallery opened at Tokyu Plaza Omotesando Harajuku for a limited time from Saturday, November 27, 2021 to Sunday, January 9, 2022 by HARTi TOKYU LAND CORPORATION, Ltd., with which Tanseisha has a capital and business alliance, together with Tokyu Real Estate Co., Ltd. and Tokyu Real Estate SC Management Co., Ltd.
Background of the collaboration
As professionals in spatial creation, Tanseisha is proactively participating in various research and demonstration experiments to meet the needs of business owners and society, and is working to keep up with social changes and technological advances. As part of this, we are working to create new value by utilizing spatial data.
By working with PxDT, which connects academic technology with social issues and needs through collaboration with universities and other institutions and creates value through business, we will incorporate data-driven methods into the designs derived from the knowledge and sense of spatial creation that we have cultivated thus far, and strengthen our ability to solve problems through spatial creation. By combining sensibility with quantitative data, we aim to solve problems for business owners and further improve the experience value of end users.

Future outlook
Through these demonstration experiments, we will identify and improve issues for commercialization, and aim to provide services and solutions that utilize spatial sensing data to resolve issues faced by business owners and society.
[Examples of expected services and solutions]
- ● Commercial Spaces (department stores, commercial complexes, etc.)
- Proposals for layout improvements, operational improvements, and facility renovations based on visitor attributes and movement data - ● Cultural Spaces (museums, art galleries, etc.)
- Providing an exhibit condition management service based on temperature and humidity data of the space - ● Business Spaces (offices, factories, warehouses, etc.)
- Optimizing personnel allocation and proposing work style reforms through visualization of work and behavioral history - ● Public Spaces (stations, airports, service areas, etc.)
- Proposing counter-terrorism measures through the collection and analysis of behavioral data
Comments from the two companies
●Yoichi Ochiai, Director of Pixie Dust Technologies Inc.
At PxDT, we are accelerating digital transformation of space by utilizing spatial recognition and wave control technologies.
In this endeavor, we will utilize our strengths as a research and development company to aid in the dynamic analysis of visitors, which has been difficult to quantitatively evaluate until now, in order to contribute to creating spaces that foster greater compatibility between digital and physical spaces, foster diversity, and are optimized for each customer's individual cases.
● TANSEISHA Co., Ltd. Cross Media Innovation Headquarters Spatial Media Marketing Division
Akihiro Suzuki, Head of Spatial Media Produce Department
At Tanseisha Cross Media Innovation Headquarters, we have combined our company's spatial creation know-how with a variety of technologies to Spatial Production spaces that leverage their high expressiveness and connection capabilities, and have been working on expanding experiences. Furthermore, through this latest initiative, we will further enhance our ability to create experiences that are individually optimized for each customer, putting into practice the creation of spaces for a new era and strongly promoting digital transformation of spaces.
About "KOTOWARI™"

Developed by PxDT, "KOTOWARI™" acquires, stores, and utilizes spatial data (e.g., 3D point cloud data and image data), enabling the creation of advanced applications that handle a variety of spatial phenomena as digital data and perform integrated analysis (e.g., digitalization of space, remote inspection, anomaly detection, and intelligent industrial equipment).
Specifically, by combining appropriate modules on the KOTOWARI™ platform, applications can be built to meet the challenges and needs of each industry and business type, and sensors can be easily added, integrated, or switched over, allowing the developed applications to continually evolve. This contributes to the sustainable realization of DX (digital transformation) using spatial data in various fields.
