Won the Bronze Award and other awards at the 55th Japan Sign Design Awards

  • Notice

We are pleased to announce that "SWEETS BANK" and "Kumamoto Castle Tower", for which we helped create the space, have won the bronze award at the 55th Japan Sign Design Awards (sponsored by the Japan Sign Design Association). "SWEETS BANK" was also selected for the two invited judges' awards. "Mt. Fuji Museum of Earth Environment History - Human History Library" was also selected.

This award is a well-known honor in the industry, and aims to promote and raise awareness of sign design. High-quality sign design works are solicited, judged, and awarded to outstanding works. We would like to express our gratitude to our customers who gave us this opportunity, as well as to everyone who cooperated with us throughout the various processes.

Going forward, we will continue to keep in mind the perspective of those who will use the space and work to create rich spaces that can contribute to our customers' businesses.

[Design intent]
By creating a dining table-shaped structure that evokes a family gathering, the building is symbolized as a base for fostering ties between the company and the community. We avoided concrete signs that would disrupt the overall worldview of the building, and instead placed everyday items found on a dining table as scaled-down objects evocative of the various contents within the facility, such as offices, banks, shops, and cafes, to create intuitive sign functions.

Five years after the idea was conceived, all involved are delighted that the facility, which was the subject of much discussion and numerous proposals until the very last minute before the opening, received this award. As a headquarters building unlike anything anyone has seen before, and above all, its dining table-shaped architecture embodies the company's commitment to fostering ties with the local community and companies, evoking the image of a family gathering around a meal together. In response to the building's significance as a sign of the town, we placed objects that evoke each of the facility's functions, such as the offices, bank, shops and cafe, aiming to unify the worldview and create a headquarters building that will excite visitors.
