  • Notice

We are pleased to announce the results of the "NEXSTO - Next Generation Store Idea Contest 2022" (hereinafter referred to as "this Contest"), held by Tanseisha, to consider the new normal stores for the next era.

A first round of judging was conducted from a total of 249 applications, and the judges' special award winners were selected, as well as the Grand Prize candidates who would proceed to the final round of judging. At the final round of judging, the applicants gave heartfelt presentations in front of the judges. After rigorous judging, the following 12 winning ideas were selected, and an awards ceremony for the winners was held on December 7th.

Comments by the judges

● Taisuke Uegakiuchi (Design Center Principal Creative Director)
The theme of this contest, which was held for the second time, was "excitement." It is a keyword that foreshadows the dawn of a new era. We received a wider variety of fresh ideas than last year. Listening to everyone's ideas, we realized that "excitement" in the modern era is strongly linked to solving small everyday problems. We would like to continue to develop the contest platform to make it even more attractive so that "future design" can be the driving force behind these solutions.

Akihiro Suzuki (General Manager, Spatial Media Produce Division 1, CMI Center)
This year, there seemed to be more ideas for spatial "experiences" than last time, and the winning works in particular were ideas that not only focused on the appearance of the space, but also on the time, feelings and emotions of the visitors, and were "exciting" for us who were listening to the entries. I think this contest reminded everyone involved in the contest of the joy of designing a space, the fun of using a space to "excite" visitors, and the true essence of spatial creation.
