Summary of the discussion-based session "Strategic Conference to Change the Number of Related Populations"

Date and Time May 31, 2024 (Friday) 16:20-18:00
Contents

Strategic Conference to Change the Number of Related Population by an Order of Magnitude - Considering the revival of the Noto Peninsula through related population and a future where the number of related population will change by an order of magnitude -

Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and Tourism has finally begun full-scale discussions on a bill to promote "dual residence." We believe that the key to recovery from the Noto Peninsula earthquake that occurred at the beginning of the year is the relationship between the depopulated Noto Peninsula and urban areas such as Kanazawa, Tokyo and Osaka.

The Japan Vitalization Platform (JVP), which was launched at the first Beyond Conference with the goal of changing the number of related population by an order of magnitude, has continued to support Noto since the disaster. We hope to see Noto become a pioneering region in dual residence and for this movement to spread throughout Japan.

This Beyond Conference will feature a three-part strategy meeting, beginning with "How the Noto Peninsula Earthquake raises questions about the future of Japanese society," followed by a "Noto Reconstruction Strategy Meeting" and a "Proposal and Implementation Meeting for Expanding the Related Population."
