"Kurasuwa Forest"

[Employer]
Yomeishu Manufacturing Co., Ltd.

[Award-winning organization]
Yomeishu Manufacturing Co., Ltd. / TAAO / Yamaura Co., Ltd. / Tanseisha Co., Ltd.

【overview】
Kurasuwa Forest is an experiential complex created by Kurasuwa, a lifestyle brand Produce by Yomeishu Manufacturing, which has been pursuing health for over 400 years. It is a green tourism facility that aims to help modern people living in a highly productive society regain a sense of health in their everyday lives.

[Design Points]
1. Creating experiences that allow all consumers to regain essential health (intellect, sensitivity, and physical strength)
2. Creating a facility that makes the most of Yomeishu Manufacturing's unique characteristics (coexistence with people, history, and nature)
3. Creating a system that allows the business to grow by itself through the voluntary activities of staff

[Evaluation by the judges]
The plan embodies the "health" concept that Yomeishu has cultivated over many years as an experiential complex where forests and people coexist. A variety of spaces, including the relocated historic storehouse, the "Forest Ring" corridor surrounding the forest, and a treehouse-like library, allow visitors to experience a real closeness to nature. Centered on an experience that restores the sensitivity, intellect, and physical strength that city dwellers often lack, the plan is distinctive in that it links the very acts of eating, reading, and strolling to the brand experience. Furthermore, it incorporates a cyclical system in which the business develops through the initiative of staff, proposing a new form of green tourism that connects the everyday with the extraordinary. It is a highly unique initiative that embodies the company's vision for the future while utilizing local resources.

"Noto Old Wood Rescue Project"

[Business entity name]
Noto Fukko Lab (Inc.)

[Award-winning organizations and companies]
Noto Fukko Lab (Inc.) / Old Wood Create Blue Group / Tanseisha Co., Ltd.

【overview】
The Noto Old Wood Rescue Project is an initiative to recover old wood and tools from old houses that were damaged in the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake and are scheduled for demolition, and upcycle them into furniture and interior materials. We work at the request of the owners of the demolished houses, and we are working on the issue of "emotional rescue" for those whose homes or family homes were affected by the disaster. We also contribute to reducing waste and building a connected population.

[Design Points]
1. Victims first. We empathize with the victims, carefully listen to their memories of their homes, and record them in a rescue file.
2. By working to utilize old materials across different positions, we will contribute to the creation of a "connected population" that will be the key to creative reconstruction.
3. Collaborate with urban companies that prioritize sustainability to build a sustainable model for social business.

[Evaluation by the judges]
The demolition of disaster-stricken homes is protracted due to the complex administrative procedures and rights adjustments involved. Overcoming these realities one by one, and empathizing with the pain of losing their homes, the project established a system to connect old timber and tools to new users, along with a "rescue file" that preserves the owners' stories and photographs. The significance of the project and the enthusiasm of its management sparked a chain of empathy, with carpenters, designers, researchers, and companies working together to visualize the process from safety management and removal to evaluation and sales, creating a creative reconstruction project that fosters a small economic cycle and a spirit of "manufacturing."
