Tanseisha is responsible for the design, construction, maintenance, and cultural Tourism of the New Lake Biwa Cultural Center Development Project (tentative name), which Shiga Prefecture is planning as a PFI project (※), in cooperation with the prefecture. Tanseisha is the representative company of Lake Biwa C&S Co., Ltd., a special purpose company (SPC) made up of 10 companies, including those in Shiga Prefecture.
This project involves the construction of a new Lake Biwa Culture Museum (tentatively named) on a new site to take over the role that the Lake Biwa Culture Museum, a prefectural museum with a history of approximately 65 years, played in 2008 after it closed due to aging and other reasons. In addition to the traditional museum functions of storing and exhibiting cultural assets, the new facility will also function as a "regional cultural asset support center" and a "visitor center that will serve as a cultural Tourism hub," with the aim of opening for service in December 2027 as a core base for preserving, passing on, utilizing, and promoting the cultural assets of Omi, a region that Shiga Prefecture is proud of.
For more details about this project, please visit the "New Lake Biwa Cultural Center Pre-site."
This month marks two years until the museum's opening, and as part of the opening preparation work we are in charge of, we held the "Two Years to Go Countdown Event - Let's Enjoy Culture on the Shores of Lake Biwa!" on Saturday, December 13th at the new Lake Biwa Culture Museum construction site.
Additionally, Arisa Sunagawa, a planner in Produce Business Management Cultural & Communication Space Business Unit will be speaking at the "New Lake Biwa Cultural Center Forum 5" to be held on Sunday, December 21st.
We look forward to your participation.
