The Internet Museum (URL: https://www.museum.or.jp/), an information site for museums, Museums run by Tanseisha, provides online museum videos accompanied by investigative reports reporting on special and permanent exhibitions.
The Internet Museum is one of Japan's largest museum information sites, operated under the concept of "Life with Museum." One of the main contents of the Internet Museum is the "interview reports," which are conducted by staff with specialized knowledge of cultural facilities and exhibitions who visit special exhibitions and permanent exhibitions to conduct interviews, film, and edit them. In addition, the Internet Museum's YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/InternetMuseum) has released 4,191 videos (as of April 15, 2020) linked to the interview reports. By watching the reports and videos together, you can enjoy the state of special exhibitions and permanent exhibitions all over the country from the comfort of your own home.
In addition, on April 12th, we published a special feature titled "Exhibitions Postponed or Cancelled due to COVID-19 Prevention Measures," which introduces special exhibitions that were temporarily closed to prevent the spread of COVID-19, but were unable to be held despite being fully prepared, through photos and other means. More content will be added in the future.
The interview report can be enjoyed along with the video posted on YouTube (from a past exhibition held at the Sumida Hokusai Museum).
Special feature: "Exhibitions postponed or canceled due to COVID-19 countermeasures"
In addition, we have also published "Information on museum closures due to COVID-19 infection prevention measures," which summarizes information on museum closures across the country to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Based on our corporate philosophy of "contributing to the realization of an enriched society and life through the creation of better spaces," Tanseisha will continue to contribute to the creation and passing on of diverse and rich culture, and to solving the issues facing our customers and society.
