Tanseisha, along with THAP, a non-profit organization based in Tsuruga, Fukui Prefecture Prefecture, which engages in various community activities, and Ignition Point Co., Ltd., a business consulting and innovation company, are participating as members of the executive committee to hold the "Tsuruga International Cultural Exchange Festival" (hereinafter referred to as "this event") for the first time in Tsuruga, Fukui Prefecture, on Saturday, November 3rd and Sunday, November 4th.
This event will feature over 15 different programs with themes of "food," "listening," "experience," and "knowledge," allowing participants to learn about, experience, and enjoy the cultures of Poland, Lithuania, the Netherlands, and Israel, which have deep historical ties to Tsuruga. In order to enrich the event, such as inviting workshop instructors from each country, a crowdfunding campaign was conducted between June 22nd and August 24th. The event achieved 130% of its goal, leading to the decision on this program.
Tsuruga City has built friendly relations with countries such as Poland and Israel since providing support and exchange with Polish orphans in the 1920s and Jewish refugees in the 1940s when they landed at Tsuruga Port. This event is being held in cooperation with the city, local companies and organizations, local people, and various parties related to the four countries with which Tsuruga has deep historical ties, with the aim of passing on the history of "humanitarianism" and cultural exchange that Tsuruga has, which promotes "Tsuruga, a port town that connects the world and an exchange hub city developed by everyone," and developing Tsuruga as a city of cultural exchange.
Through this event, we hope that the citizens of Tsuruga and the surrounding area will be able to deepen their exchanges with the cultures and people of these countries, reminiscing about the period from 1920 to 1940, and passing on the friendly relations and cultural exchanges with the four countries into the future. We also hope that the cultures of these countries will take root in the local area, and that Tsuruga will develop into a city of true cultural exchange.
We look forward to seeing you all there.
