Tanseisha has decided to cancel the "Now is the time to support! Tohoku Reconstruction Event - Learn, Eat, and Think about the Future of the Disaster-stricken Areas" that it has been co-hosting with Fujitsu Limited at Shinagawa Season Terrace (MINATO CITY Ward, Tokyo) this year.
This event has continued to be held as a place to support the disaster-stricken areas, which are still facing various issues that need to be resolved, and to share an opportunity for thought, together with all attendees.
This year marks the fourth time, and with the cooperation of all involved parties, we have been preparing for the event to be held in mid-October. In addition to a direct sale of products from the disaster-stricken areas, a panel exhibition conveying the current state of the disaster-stricken areas, and examples of actions taken by Fujitsu Limited and our company toward the recovery of areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake, we had planned to hold a new special exhibition, which was well received last year. However, after discussions within the company and with all involved parties, we have come to the decision to cancel the event, with the safety of visitors and others in mind as our number one priority, in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
While it has not yet been decided whether the event will be held next year, we hope for the recovery of the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake, which still face challenges, and we will continue to support them together with everyone.

Message Project Leader the Tanseisha Tohoku Reconstruction Project
Commercial Space Division Hiroshi Hirachi
There are less than six months left until the 10th anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake. From the "intensive reconstruction period" aimed at the restoration and reconstruction of the affected areas to the "reconstruction and revitalization period" in which efforts were made to develop reconstructed towns and revive industries, the reconstruction and support projects that society has worked on together have borne fruit in many ways. In addition, since last year, a succession of reconstruction shopping streets have been opened along the coast, bringing some positive news to the affected areas. However, issues such as "expanding the exchange population," "spiritual reconstruction," and "vacant land issues" in the affected areas are still in the process of being resolved, and there is still a need for expert knowledge and guidance.
Although it was supposed to be the fourth time, this event has unfortunately had to be postponed. However, on this occasion marking the 10th anniversary of the disaster, we would like to once again think together with everyone about "what can be done" and "what can be useful" for the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake.
