Danshosha will be holding the "Tohoku Reconstruction Event 2021 - Thinking about future regional development based on efforts to rebuild after the Great East Japan Earthquake" online on Thursday, July 8th.
Since 2017, Tanseisha has been holding the "Now is the time to support! Tohoku Reconstruction Event - Learn, Eat, and Think about the Future of the Disaster-stricken Areas" to raise awareness of the current state of the disaster-stricken areas through sales of products from the disaster-stricken areas and panel displays. However, in 2020, we have decided to postpone the event due to the spread of COVID-19. Although there are still no signs of an end to the pandemic, we will hold an online event in July, when the "Reconstruction Olympics" are scheduled to be held, as we mark the 10th anniversary of the disaster, with the hope of sharing an opportunity to think together about future community development, without forgetting the disaster-stricken areas.
At this event, we will welcome Ms. Kyoko Watanabe, Director of Makigumi Co., Ltd., who have been working hard towards reconstruction in the disaster-stricken areas, Mr. Daiki Iwasa, Director of GRA Inc., and Ms. Sachiko Sakiyama, Director of Tansei Institute Co., Ltd. who has been working to revitalize the region from the perspective of utilizing cultural assets, including utilizing remains of the earthquake disaster, and we will hear from them about their activities and challenges to date, as well as their future initiatives.
We hope that through this event, participants will be able to learn about the various efforts being made in the reconstruction process, and that by thinking together about future community development, it will provide an opportunity for them to gain new insights that will lead to hope for the future.
The "Tohoku Reconstruction Event" sponsored by Tanseisha will mark a turning point this year, the 10th anniversary of the earthquake disaster, and from next year onwards, the event is planned to serve as a venue for further developing and utilizing the various experiences and knowledge gained in the process of being involved in the Tohoku reconstruction effort to solve issues in regions across the country.
We look forward to your participation.
