Located on a remote island. Valuable fossil materials. A laid-back island atmosphere. Warm and welcoming islanders...
How can we make the experience of visitors special by taking advantage of the assets of the island and the museum? That was the challenge of the project, and it was also a lot of fun to think about. After much discussion with the city and the curators, we came up with a highly unique exhibit and hands-on learning experience, where visitors can experience the thoughts of researchers while looking at exhibit materials from the local Amakusa area. You can enjoy the experience of immersing yourself in the local area, like a homestay.
It has been 27 years since the first dinosaur fossils were found in Goshoura. The museum was opened with the hopes, cooperation, and warm welcome of the islanders. I am very happy to have been able to do work that has pleased the local community. (Display Planning: Mugiko Komatsuda)
