About the Project

Overview This facility was developed in a linear fashion over a distance of approximately 700m in the space under the elevated tracks starting from Nakameguro Station. Based on the theme of "Enjoying the town in a Nakameguro-like way", the facility was created to preserve the atmosphere of a shopping street and to blend in and coexist naturally with the existing shops in the town. As the surrounding location changes from Meguro River to Yamate-dori to the station to shops to residential areas, by making the shopping street blend in with the town, it plays a role in further increasing the accessibility of the existing shops and greenways around Nakameguro Station.
Issues/Themes The aim is to create a facility that makes use of the charm of Nakameguro as a town, where unique street shops and long-established shopping districts coexist and where visitors and residents can spend time together.
Space Solution/Realization The development concept is "SHARE." Environmental Design concept is "Roof Sharing," and the viaduct is treated as a single roof, with the aim of "naturally creating a sharing of time, space, and thoughts" under the continuous eaves. In realizing this concept, we focused on creating an MD plan (store selection) that brings together a lineup of stores with the power to convey Nakameguro's message, and on formulating design regulations that respect the individuality of each store to the maximum extent possible. By being conscious of Nakameguro's unique landscape formation and town branding, we also aim to create a synergistic effect with existing stores.
