Inside the tunnel, like a time tunnel, you can see the trajectory from the EXPO'70 to the EXPO2025 OSAKA, KANSAI, JAPAN.

Near Sakurajima Station, as the Expo site approaches, the Expo's symbol runs alongside the train, creating a sense of anticipation and serving as an introduction to the Expo.

On the return trip, the production wraps you in launching fireworks, bringing the excitement of the Expo to a close. A moving finale to head home with the lingering joy.

About the Project
| Overview | The "JR WEST Parade Train" is designed to build anticipation for the EXPO2025 OSAKA, KANSAI, JAPAN. It implements an immersive video experience within the train's interior, creating a space that brings smiles to passengers' faces. The signage, which spans the entire length of the passenger compartment, displays live video from the train windows superimposed with GPS-linked augmented reality (AR) effects (ribbons, confetti, Osaka specialties, etc.). The fusion of reality and digital creates a sense of openness, like being in an open-top car driving through a parade, realizing a new era of railway vehicle experience. |

| Issues/Themes | Taking advantage of the EXPO2025 OSAKA, KANSAI, JAPAN, the goal is to enhance the presence of the Sakurajima Line, which serves as an access route to the Expo venue, and to contribute to the success of the Expo. It also aims to create trains that generate new value as a testing ground for innovation. |
| Space Solution/Realization | We created a train production that overlays live video from the train windows with augmented reality (AR) images of Osaka's attractions and symbols of the World Expo, tailored to the area being traveled. The sparsely scenic underground sections were designed like a time tunnel, weaving together the journey from the EXPO'70 to the EXPO2025 OSAKA, KANSAI, JAPAN. In an era where many things can be completed online from home, we created an immersive space that would make people engrossed in their smartphones on the train look up and appreciate the joy of the real experience of going out on a train. |

Junichi Nasuno
After working on Commercial Spaces design, mainly for amusement and entertainment facilities, he was transferred to the promotion department where he developed his know-how. He is currently in charge of commercial facilities in general. He values "design that enriches people's hearts," and strives to create playful spaces using plenty of mechanisms that excite end users. In order to succeed in the business, he also plans and proposes from the upstream, aiming to create facilities that can enjoy the growth of the place together with the business owner and the end user.
