About the Project

Overview Based on the concept of "walking underwater with tropical fish", this is the first "flowing aquarium pool" in Japan that combines an aquarium with a flowing pool. In the huge tanks in the center of the pool, there are about 1,300 fish of 35 species, including tropical fish, sharks, saltwater fish, and freshwater fish, swimming, and you can experience the feeling of swimming with real fish. The pool itself is a story based on an introduction, development, twist, and conclusion, and it is a space where you can enjoy the fun of traveling through the beautiful southern seas.
Issues/Themes To make children's dreams of swimming with real fish come true, and to create a facility with promotional power that will make people want to tell others about it.
Space Solution/Realization By blending real and virtual images through the use of live fish swimming overhead and motion graphics of the fish, as well as the reflections of the tank and the water surface, we have created a lazy river pool that makes you feel like you are swimming with the fish, rather than a lazy river pool with a tank. We also took into consideration the effects that can be felt physically, such as the state of the semicircular canals underwater, hue correction, and the effect of flames seen from underwater, and reflected these in the pool. We also incorporated a sense of surprise and playfulness to create a space that visitors will want to tell others about.
