  • Notice

At KUKAN DESIGN AWARD 2024 (sponsored by the Japan Space Design Association and the Japan Commercial Environmental Design Association), the LOGI'Q Minamiibaraki Showrooms "TO CUBE," which we helped create, won the Bronze Award for Corporate Promotion Space, and the Toyota City Museum won the Bronze Award for Cultural Exchange Space. In addition, the following projects were selected for the Shortlist and Longlist.

KUKAN DESIGN AWARD is the only and largest spatial award in Japan, which was established with the aim of expanding new possibilities in spatial design by discovering outstanding designs and talented designers and promoting them to the world.

This award is a great encouragement to all involved in creating the space, including our designers. We would also like to thank our clients for giving us this opportunity, and everyone who helped us along the way.

Going forward, we will continue to keep in mind the perspective of those who will use the space and work to create rich spaces that can contribute to our customers' businesses.

Corporate Promotion Space Bronze Award

[Design intent]
As a model facility that can be expected to secure human resources in the logistics industry, where labor shortages are a problem, it has been installed in part of the warehouse area to share the initiative and aspirations for the future with stakeholders. While retaining the feel of a warehouse, the space has been finished with a sophisticated design that is unique to a Shibuya developer. It is Showrooms that also serves as an exchange space for realizing cutting-edge initiatives, where people can experience, interact, and understand social issues in the infrastructure and industry business field.

[Location] Osaka Prefecture
[Business Owner] TOKYU LAND CORPORATION
[Our Person in Charge]
Total Direcion: Mai Tsuruya / Concept planning, Display Planning: Eiichiro Suzuki, Kenta Yonemoto, Kei Kikuchi
Design, Layout: Mai Tsuruya / Digital Contents: Eiichiro Suzuki, Kenta Yonemoto / Production, Construction: Hiroyuki Masui / Project Management: Hidenori Kataishi

In the limited time before the opening, we all worked frantically to come up with a solution that we could use to convey Tokyu Land's vision of the future and its efforts to address various social issues facing the logistics industry. We didn't compromise on the design or even on the details, such as Video, and we all worked hard until we were satisfied. I will never forget the look of joy and surprise on the faces of the people involved at the unveiling.
I am truly happy that Tokyu Land Corporation and the Tanseisha project promotion members were able to come together as one team, which led to this award. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone involved in this project. Thank you so much. (Creative Director, Tsuruya Mai)

Cultural Exchange Space Bronze Award

"Toyota City Museum"

Photo: PIPS inc.

[Design intent]
The concept is "A museum that everyone can continue to create together." The aim is for a diverse range of people, mainly local residents, to gather, interact, and "inherit the history of the region, explore its charm, and create a future with the people of Toyota City" through various activities. The permanent exhibition has the theme of "Toyota's nature and people's activities," and is a place where visitors can encounter, interact, and explore "Toyota" through exhibits of "objects" related to "Toyota" and the "memories" of the people.

The concept of the new facility is "a museum that we continue to create together." Together with Toyota City officials, we have held many citizen workshops and events, exploring how a museum can be "created together with citizens." Through these activities, we have been able to create a system of museum activities and exhibition methods based on citizen participation, and present a new vision of a museum as a creative space. We believe that these results led to this award. We would like to once again express our gratitude to the city officials and everyone who collaborated with us. Thank you very much.
