HANA KITCHO

Rebranding that inherits the founder's "tradition" and challenges "innovation"

 • Commercial Spaces

"Kitcho" is celebrating its 80th anniversary. We assisted in the rebranding project of "HANA Kitcho" under the leadership of Kunio Tokuoka, the third generation of Kyoto Kitcho, who has inherited the "tradition" from the founder Teiichi Yuki and is challenging "innovation" at the same time.

The design concept was "modern Rimpa". Collaboration with artists such as Eriko Horiki, a washi paper modeling artist, Shuhei Hasado, a plaster craftsman, and Kenji Kobayashi, a moss and bonsai artist, resulted in a space that inherited the spirit of the establishment while undergoing a bold change.

About the Project

Overview "Kitcho" is celebrating its 80th anniversary. We assisted with the rebranding project for "HANA Kitcho" under the direction of third-generation Kyoto Kitcho owner, Kunio Tokuoka, who is challenging himself with innovation while inheriting the traditions of its founder, Teiichi Yuki,.

The design concept is "modern Rinpa." Through collaboration with various artists, including Japanese paper sculptor Eriko Horiki, plasterer Shuhei Hasado, and moss and bonsai artist Kenji Kobayashi, we have created a space that has undergone bold transformation while still maintaining the spirit of our founding.
