About the Project

Overview The Milan Expo was held with food as its theme. The Japan Pavilion, with the concept of "Harmonious Diversity," promoted the idea that Japan's agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and food-related initiatives, as well as the various wisdom and techniques packed into "Japanese food" and "Japanese food culture," can create a diverse future and contribute to solving common issues for all of humanity. It is mainly made up of five scenes, each with its own theme, and is a space for exhibitions, experiences, and Spatial Production.
Issues/Themes To create an experience that showcases the diversity of Japanese food, Japanese culinary culture, and the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries industries, using digital technology, various Spatial Production techniques, and exhibition expressions.
Space Solution/Realization After extensive discussions with Japan's leading creators, including the exhibition producer, we carried out long-term mock-assembly verification for each scene in Japan. In addition to the hardware aspects such as Spatial Production techniques, construction, and modeling, we also previewed and adjusted the content at the same time, creating an advanced experiential space that stimulates the five senses by fusing hardware and software. We created the most highly acclaimed pavilion at the Expo.
