As part of a downtown revitalization project, Miyazaki Art Center was developed with the aim of becoming a downtown activity hub that residents can easily access. The facility is equipped with exhibition spaces, a small hall, a library, a kids' space, a workshop, and more. <br /> The signs inside the center feature the silhouettes of approximately 60 actual residents, collaged together with various woods, metals, and other materials with different finishes. Additionally, a color palette and designer chairs were used to Spatial Production the environment, and by scattering a variety of colors, materials, finishes, and shapes throughout the space, we aimed to create a space that not only serves to appreciate art, but also stimulates the desire to create art one's own.

About the Project

Overview The Miyazaki Art Center was developed as a part of a downtown revitalization project, aiming to be a base of operations in the city center that citizens can easily use. It is equipped with an exhibition space, a small hall, a library, a kids' space, a workshop, etc.
The signs in the building are made up of silhouettes of around 60 actual citizens, collaged on the surface with various woods, metals, and other materials with different finishes. In addition, a color palette and designer chairs have been placed as environmental Spatial Production, and by sprinkling many colors, materials, finishes, and shapes throughout the space, we aimed to create a space that is not just for appreciating art, but also stimulates the desire to create one's own work.
