| Overview | This is the first phase of a renovation project for the Shiga Prefectural Azuchi Castle Archaeological Museum, which opened in 1992 as a museum dealing with buried cultural properties of Shiga Prefecture, including the results of archaeological excavations at the Azuchi Castle site. To further highlight the facility's unique characteristics as "the one and only museum themed on Azuchi Castle, Oda Nobunaga, and the Sengoku period," a new octagonal theater, identical to the main tower of Azuchi Castle, and information on Nobunaga, Azuchi Castle, and the Sengoku period in Omi have been added to the first exhibition room. |

| Issues/Themes | As a hub for promoting the appeal of Azuchi Castle, Nobunaga, and the Sengoku period, we aim to disseminate unique information and attractions that cannot be obtained anywhere else, and to encourage interest in Azuchi Castle and Nobunaga among a wide range of generations, from adults to children and families. |
| Space Solution/Realization | As the facility’s new main attraction, an octagonal theater modeled after the iconic main tower of Azuchi Castle has been constructed to define the space. The theater Video visualizes the appearance of Azuchi Castle—a structure shrouded in mystery with various theories surrounding it—based on the latest research findings from Shiga Prefecture.Using a five-sided screen measuring 23.8 meters in length and 3.5 meters in height, along with lighting Spatial Production, we have created a space Video that immerses visitors in the beauty and grandeur of Azuchi Castle as it once was . By also utilizing wall graphics and projection mapping, we have created an exhibition space that makes the subject matter easier to understand and fosters a deeper appreciation. |
