About the Project

Overview This exhibition facility was renovated and reopened in Koshien Plus, a new commercial facility on the south side of Hanshin Koshien Stadium, after part of the Koshien History Museum, which was located in the outfield stands of the stadium, was relocated and expanded. The history of the Hanshin Tigers, high school baseball, and Hanshin Koshien Stadium are all gathered in one place. Tanseisha has created a facility that incorporates new exhibits that will attract the interest of a wide range of visitors, based on the basic concept of "inheriting history, tradition, and memories" that was set forth at the time of the facility's opening in 2010.
Issues/Themes To create a museum that continues to convey the charm and excitement of baseball by fully utilizing the abundant materials related to the unbroken history and various dramas and scenes at Hanshin Koshien Stadium, the sacred ground of baseball in Japan. In addition, to create a facility that can be enjoyed by more people, aiming to create a "ballpark area" that is lively 365 days a year.
Space Solution/Realization The museum has set the keywords "dynamism," "tradition," and "enthusiasm" and has organized the 6,000 items of collected and preserved materials (1,000 of which are on display) around the main themes of the Hanshin Tigers and high school baseball. The museum has expressed the enthusiasm and overflowing emotion of baseball in a dynamic exhibition space that incorporates wall-to-wall photographs and large-scale Video. It has also increased the number of experiential content, incorporating mechanisms that allow a wider range of visitors to enjoy themselves.
Design for Environment Safety design: We strive to prevent injuries in the event of an accidental collision by eliminating sharp edges, such as the edges of fixtures, as much as possible. In addition, to ensure the safety of large fixtures in the event of an earthquake, we conduct structural verification before designing.
