| Overview | This museum is based on the concept of "The Universe of Existence, The Universe of Perception." Located within walking distance of Kyoto Station, the approximately 10,000 m2 space, consisting of four areas, is the largest teamLab museum in Japan. The museum is comprised of over 50 artworks, including artworks never before shown in Japan based on the concept of "Environmental Phenomena", the complex, three-dimensional creative movement space "Athletics Forest" themed around educational projects, "Future Park" for co-creation (collaborative creativity), and a sketch factory. |
|---|---|
| Issues/Themes | Understanding the works of the globally active art collective "teamLab" and ensuring their quality. Taking into consideration the safety of the museum, we also need to incorporate the works into the actual space. |
| Space Solution/Realization | In realizing the artwork, we took into consideration the technical construction requirements from the design stage, and designed it so that there would be no changes to the design later. For new artworks that were the first of their kind in Japan or the world, we conducted mock-up verification, and paid attention to every detail to ensure that the space the client wanted to realize was seamless throughout the entire museum, and then incorporated it into the actual space. This museum was created in collaboration with the client from the initial stages to the opening, with the aim of creating an even better artwork. |
