A place where people can gather to learn about Ogai's charm and discuss literature.

Overview | Bunkyo City Mori Ogai Memorial Museum was built on the site of "Kancho-ro," the former residence of Mori Ogai, a Meiji era literary master, and his family. The museum holds and exhibits many valuable materials, including Ogai's handwritten manuscripts and personal belongings. "Kancho-ro" was not only Ogai's creative space, but also a "literary salon" where many contemporary writers interacted. Our museum aims to be a modern-day Kancho-ro, where many people can gather to learn about Ogai's charm and discuss literature. |

Issues/Themes | - To convey the multifaceted appeal of Mori Ogai, a man of letters, a military doctor, and a doting father. - The exhibits must always be fresh and attract repeat visitors. ・Consider preserving valuable materials. |
Space Solution/Realization | There are no fixed permanent exhibits, and the exhibition rooms are flexible. As the designated manager of the museum, our company also handles curatorial duties, and we always offer visitors fresh exhibits and experiences, such as special exhibitions and planned exhibitions several times a year that introduce the many facets of Ogai. In the mini-theater, we show Video that convey Ogai's work and humanity, such as contemporary writers talking about Ogai. All display cases are airtight, and LED lighting is used to preserve the materials. |
