About the Project

Overview JTB Royal Road Ginza is a JTB store that handles high-quality travel products and targets the wealthy. The store has two floors and each floor was designed based on the concept of "a place of reason and functionality that provides high-quality hospitality" and "a place of sensibility and playfulness that is the starting point for further surprises and exploration of the unknown."
Issues/Themes As the facility required not only individual booths for customer service, but also a seminar venue for travel information sessions and office space to function as a branch office for 100 employees, the biggest challenge was to use the limited space effectively, ensure a smooth operational flow and provide a high level of hospitality in terms of both space and operations.
Space Solution/Realization We have efficiently combined open and closed customer service booths of various sizes to create a floor layout that does not feel oppressive. The "reason and function" floor features a calm design without any pretense, while the "sensibility and playfulness" floor features not only high quality but also surprising designs, giving customers a sense of security and anticipation for their trip.
