About the Project

Overview Hachimantai Mountain Hotel is located next to Towada-Hachimantai National Park, and offers spectacular views of Iwate Prefecture highest peak, Mt. Iwate, and Hachimantai, a paradise for alpine plants. We assisted with the renovation of the superior rooms at the hotel. The hotel targets a wide range of guests, from Tourism groups, families, and inbound tourists, and although the rooms are usually twin rooms, they have been remodeled to accommodate up to four people to accommodate group travel.
Issues/Themes Unlike the chic Mountain Rooms on the upper floors, the design is more intimate and caters to a wider range of guest needs.
The goal is to address the deterioration of the interior and improve its functionality while creating an atmosphere befitting a resort hotel.
Space Solution/Realization The design concept is "Relax in the Woods." It evokes the image of a space where you can relax amid the nature of Hachimantai and the fresh greenery of the forest. The wall behind the bed makes use of the texture of wood to create an image of a grove, the furniture exudes the texture and warmth of wood, and the forest green accent color is incorporated into the calming earth tones Spatial Production a resort-like space. In addition, by installing a long headboard that uses the entire wall, the design is also suitable for making beds for up to four people, from twin to triple to quadruple. The number of electrical outlets and USB ports has been increased to allow four people to use the room at the same time, with consideration given to group use.
