About the Project

Overview Located on Yumihari-dake mountain, offering panoramic views of the Kujukushima Islands and the nightscape of Sasebo city, the Saikai National Park Yumihari-no-Oka Hotel is a resort hotel. Celebrating its 30th anniversary, the hotel has undergone extensive renovations to provide an even more comfortable and pleasant stay. All 97 guest rooms and common areas have been refurbished.
Issues/Themes To efficiently update design, lighting, and power environments to meet modern needs.
Space Solution/Realization Based on the theme of "A retro-modern resort embraced by the sea and night view," we added modern design elements while utilizing the original classical design style, fixtures, and facilities. We planned a cost-effective renovation that will be loved for many years to come. The design is divided between the sea side overlooking Kujukushima and the mountain side overlooking the night view, and we blended the rich borrowed scenery that spreads outside the windows into the surrounding environment while leaving a certain amount of open space so that it becomes part of the art that adorns the space.
