About the Project

Overview This health checkup clinic was newly established in conjunction with the renovation of the "Perie Nishi-Chiba Annex" station building at JR Nishi-Chiba Station. It aims to be a familiar place for local residents, station users, and young students from nearby universities and vocational schools, and to serve as the closest medical consultation point to everyday life, where they can casually seek advice about physical and mental health issues. In addition to health checkups, the clinic also has consultation rooms for internal medicine, dermatology, gynecology, and urology, both in person and online.
Issues/Themes To accommodate patients of all ages, we created an atmosphere that was welcoming to everyone. We also planned the flow of patients and staff within a limited space to minimize crossovers.
Space Solution/Realization The coloring evokes the sense of transparency and cleanliness that comes from the name of the clinic, and the use of curved surfaces throughout the design makes it feel approachable to anyone. Spatial Production has been used on the ceiling and pillars to avoid a feeling of claustrophobia. While the space is compact, we have taken into consideration the flow of people and have also made effective use of the limited space by adding storage functions to the benches.
Sustainable design Universal design: Although the area is compact, care has been taken to ensure that the flow of visitors and staff does not cross paths as much as possible, and signs have also been designed with visibility in mind.
