Experience the joy of "manufacturing" through a lunar resource mining mission
Photography: Forward Stroke inc., etc.
Overview | This science museum was established by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, a manufacturer of various cutting-edge products, with the hope that it would be a place where young people who will lead the future can come into contact with science and technology and expand their dreams. The "Space Project" is an experiential program aimed at conveying the appeal of manufacturing. Up to 12 participants will face the large screen at the front and work together to design a lunar resource mining ship called "Dodecathlon" and attempt a lunar resource mining mission. |

Issues/Themes | Our goal is to create a corner that will convey the fun and fascination of "making things" to children who will lead the future, and give them dreams. |
Space Solution/Realization | Based on the lunar exploration project that Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is currently working on, we proposed a program that allows participants to experience a simulation of a future lunar resource mining ship. Participants can experience designing and operating the ship using an input device called "GA-BAN," which is an original design. Through this realistic simulation, which is different from a game, participants can learn all the processes that Mitsubishi Heavy Industries carries out at its actual manufacturing site, from design to production and operation, and we have created an experiential program that conveys that manufacturing is carried out with the cooperation of many different people. |
