About the Project

Overview Based on the concept of a "cafe built in an old factory site" on the American West Coast, it was opened as a place where people can discover not only music, but all the fun of music-related culture. It provides music at events unique to Tower Records, such as a permanent DJ booth and a "collaboration cafe" that combines popular characters and content. It is a space filled with the desire to help people rediscover the fun and value of music in a real place, as well as to liven up the music industry.
Issues/Themes Our goal is to create a store that perfectly blends food, music and culture, something that only Tower Records can offer.
Space Solution/Realization Both the floor and wall layouts are designed to be flexible and can be changed to accommodate a wide variety of events, creating a cafe space that is closely linked to the music that is unique to Tower Records. In addition, the "NO MUSIC, NO LIFE" poster, which Tower Records has been promoting for many years, is displayed on the entire wall, and the logo colors of yellow and red are used as lines that run through the space, expressing the identity of Tower Records throughout the entire space.
