Learn about "Space and Earth" at Japan's first floating experience attraction

  • Cultural Spaces
  • "Time-Space Hopper" is Japan's first floating experience attraction that utilizes a large screen Video measuring 15m wide and 7.8m high.

  • The floor is an improved outdoor playground equipment that allows for large jumps using air pressure. Video progresses in response to the change in the amount of air expelled when the player steps on the floor.

About the Project

Overview To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the museum's opening, the third exhibition room was renovated with an experiential large-Video display as the main exhibit, with the theme of "Space and Earth," in order to enhance the space-related exhibits. The facility aims to be a learning center for children, who will lead the next generation, to foster rich creativity, and is also a fun place for adults to learn.
Issues/Themes Our goal is to create a space that allows children to experience the vast mystery and scale of the universe and inspires them in their curiosity about it.
Space Solution/Realization In order to allow children to learn in a fun way through experience, the main symbol is the "Space-Time Hopper," a large-scale interactive Video device that allows children to jump and explore the universe as it unfolds on the screen. Three programs have been created to teach children about "the universe and the earth." In addition to these experience-based exhibits, educational exhibits have also been introduced that allow children to learn more about "the universe and the earth." We have created a space that stimulates a sense of adventure while allowing visitors to feel the mystery and scale of the universe.
